Description
A professional basic teaching laboratory of Vehicle structureserves mainly the basic teaching of automobile for undergraduates majoring in Vehicle engineering, Vehicle application engineering,Logistics engineering, Mechatronics and powerengineering.
The laboratory undertakesteaching task of courses including automobile structure, automobile electrical&electronic equipment, automobile electrical foundation&design, automotive electric hydraulic control and automobile computer control. It has become an experimental base for students to master the basic structure and principle of automobiles.
In addition, it also undertakes the experimental teaching tasks for some majors undergraduates from the School of Transportation Engineering and the School of Economics and Management. It also provides young teachers with an experimental teaching platform for new automobile structures and technologies.
The equipment conditions and management of the laboratories have been significantly improved with the guidance and support of the Ministry of Communications, and the support of the national "Project 211" construction fund and the special construction fund of the Key laboratories of the Ministry of Communications.
The laboratory has successively added a batch of advanced experimental equipment, which provides the condition for students to master the current advanced automobile technology. Besides, It has completed more than ten major scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial level, and also carried out a large number of basic and exploratory research topics.The laboratory has become a training base for automobile professionals in China and is playing an increasingly important role in the innovation of transportation science and technology.

The key research directions of the laboratory are as follows:
1. Automobile diagnostic and detection technology and equipment
2. Research and development of experimental teaching equipment for automobile structure
3. Research on gear processing of automobile transmission system
4. Research on the structure of intelligent networked automobiles
Conditions for laboratory construction
Under the high attention of the leaders from changan university laboratory managemenand automotive school, some experimental equipment have been updated and added such as the "common rail diesel injection system training", "the anti-lock braking system training", "electronic control suspension test", "automotive electronic control system simulation test","CVT transmission" and "new energy vehiclesternary lithium battery detection and analysis platform”, which makes the vehicle structure experiment device configuration leading the national counterparts.
Furthermore,the experimental equipments provides material foundation for the car structureexperimental teaching task.The vehicle structure Laboratory has more than 200 sets of equipment with a total value of more than 4 million yuan.The laboratory's office and teaching area (including Weishui campus) is 1575m2.
Research results and contributions
Teachers in our laboratory have completed experimental teaching tasks assigned by the school and more than ten scientific research projects,which cumulative contract value is more than 3 million yuan, and the "EA-1000 Automobile Engine Comprehensive Performance Analyzer" project won the second prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005.The "AMT-1 Automobile Electronic Control System Simulation Test Bench" project won the Chang'an University Outstanding Experimental Technology Achievement Award in 2005. The technology has now been applied in the national motor vehicle professional practice test bench.Teachers have completed 8 monographs and published more than 100 papers. The laboratory was rated as the advanced group of Chang'an University in 2002 and 2005.
Laboratory team construction and talent training
There are 8 teachers of full-time staff in our office, including 4 with senior titles and 4 with intermediate titles. There are 3 doctors and 2 masters.
Open exchange activities
The laboratory has long focused on opening to the outside world and exchanges. Except to being open to students of our school on working days, also receiving visits and guidance of colleagues and experts from many brother colleges, and often exchanges experimental teaching experience and materials with colleagues from other schools.
Development goals of the laboratory
In terms of apparatus construction, in order to ensure the advanced nature of our teaching equipment, we will continue to add advanced equipment.
In terms of teaching, we will more carefully, patiently, comprehensively and systematically to teach students the knowledge of automobile structure.
In terms of laboratory management, it is necessary to continuously strengthen the management of equipment intact rate to increase the utilization rate of equipment; strengthen the management of student experiment to improve the effect of teaching.
In terms of scientific research, it is mainly engaged in the research and development of the experimental teaching and training platform of automobile structure, so that students can master newer and more automobile knowledge during school.
