In the afternoon of October 29, the University and the University College Dublin(UCD) held a video conference for the declaration of the master's level Sino-foreign cooperative schooling program. Vice President Zhao Xiangmo and Paul Fanning, Provost of the UCD in China, attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Jiang Zaiwen, Director of International Affairs Department.
Zhao Xiangmo said, despite the serious impact of the international epidemic, the two universities jointly applied for the Changan Dublin International College of Transportation at Chang’an University with good enrollment, the smooth operation of education and teaching work under the joint efforts of the two universities. The two universities will further enrich the internationalization level by declaring the master's level Sino-foreign cooperative schooling project on the basis of the existing undergraduate level Sino-foreign cooperative schooling institution, and promote the two universities to carry out deeper joint training of talents and scientific research cooperation. He emphasized that the relevant functional departments should work closely with the relevant departments of the UCD to complete the submission of the application materials for the master's level Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs on time and with high quality in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Education.
Paul Fanning said that the UCD has a long history of cooperation with CHD, and the cooperation has been fruitful. Especially since the two universities have successfully applied for Chinese-foreign cooperative programs and institutions, the two universities have further strengthened substantive exchanges and cooperation in the areas of mutual visits of teachers, personnel training, cooperative research, and achieved remarkable cooperation results. He said that the UCD will work together with CHD to explore the declaration of master's-level Sino-foreign cooperative programs and strive to make new breakthroughs in Sino-foreign cooperative programs, providing more opportunities for the two universities to develop broad and deep cooperation.
The two sides discussed in detail the background, feasibility, application plan, application process, later operation conditions and guarantee measures of the new master's level Chinese-foreign cooperative education project, reached a preliminary consensus as well.
