Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has announced the results of the 2022 International Cooperation and Training Program with Russia,Ukraine and Belarus (RUB).
The project is organized by the International Office and hosted by Academician Li Peicheng. It is based on the CHD's innovative discipline of hydro-ecology and water security in arid and semi-arid regions, and is closely related to the development needs of the discipline, to cultivate international composite talents with global vision, and to improve the theoretical research level of hydro-ecology discipline comprehensively. The project covers all levels of teachers and students of the university, and 22 students are sponsored to study and exchange with the partner institutions every year, including 2 visiting scholars, 1 joint doctoral student, 2 joint master's students, 2 doctoral students, 10 master's students and 5 undergraduate students. The total amount of rolling funding is more than 16 million yuan.
The project aims to serve the national opening-up strategy, deepen the cooperation between China and RUB, and promote the cultivation of international talents between domestic universities and universities and research institutions in RUB.
The partner institutions of the project are Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSTU), Russian State University of Geological Prospecting (РГГРУ) and Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University(SPBSTU). LMSTU is ranked 78th in the QS ranking of world universities in 2021 and has produced 13 Nobel Prize winners and 6 Fields Prize winners. РГГРУ is the top-ranked institution in Russia in the field of geology, which has produced 60 members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. LMSTU is one of the top three universities in Russia in the field of science and technology, has produced three Nobel laureates, and is the cradle for the training of Russia's leading hydraulic engineers.
