Program Introduction

The major of automobile service engineering of Chang'an University started from the automobile application and maintenance major in 1951, which has an integral specialty system of undergraduate, master and doctoral subjects, a first-class team of teaching staff, and abundant professional teaching resources after nearly 70 years of development. Aiming at the talents demands in the automotive and transportation industries, through the combination of mechanical and transportation disciplines, the innovative complex talents engaging in automobile technical service, automobile operation and safety technical guarantee are cultivated. The automobile service engineering major is an important training base for senior talents in the automobile and transportation industries of our country. The graduates have solid theoretical knowledge, outstanding engineering capabilities, active innovative thinking, excellent team capabilities, and a broad international perspective and they are now working at decision-making departments and key enterprises of our industry.

The automobile service engineering major of Chang'an University has the country's first master's degree authorization point of vehicle application engineering (1981). Additionally, the national doctoral degree authorization point of carrier utilization engineering (1993) and the center for post-doctoral research studies (1998) are established earlier nationwide. In 2004, the establishment of the automobile service engineering major is officially approved, and the enrollment began in 2005. Now it is the vice chairman unit of the National Automobile Service Engineering Teaching Steering Committee.

Major Features

This major has a long history of nearly 70 years. Chang'an University is one of the first universities in China to set up the automotive service engineering major with a complete system of undergraduate, master, and doctoral disciplines. Nowadays, it has already established as a provincial-level teaching team, a famous, featured, and "first-rate specialty" in Shaanxi Province. The major has become a talent training base with outstanding discipline advantages and distinctive industry characteristics.

Relying on the carrier utilization engineering, which is the second-level discipline of the national key discipline transportation engineering ("double-first class" discipline), a series of high-level teaching and research platforms have been established. It includes the National Road Traffic Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the National Road Traffic Engineering Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, the Western Traffic Safety and Intelligent Control Collaborative Innovation Center, the Entrepreneurial Talent Training Mood Innovation Testing Zone of Commercial Vehicle Application and Manufacturing Field in Shaanxi Province, the Intelligent Public Transportation Shaanxi Province University Students Off-campus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Education Base, the Automobile Transportation Safety Assurance Technology Transportation Industry Key Laboratory and so on.
